11th REUNION – Hendersonville, North Carolina
September 14 – 17, 2005
Hotel Information:
Quality Inn and Suites, 77 Cummings Cove Pkwy., Hendersonville, NC 28739
- Rate is $55 and includes a full hot breakfast
- Reserve directly with the hotel (add phone number and other info. like cut off date)
- Check in September 14 or 15 depending on your own schedule
- Visit the 488th Hospitality Suite throughout the reunion weekend
Optional Tours:
September 15 (Thursday) – Tour the fabulous Biltmore Estate.
Prior reservations are required at a cost of $27 per person. Included
is a tour of the mansion, the gardens and the winery with wine tasting.
If there is sufficient interest and advance notice reasonably priced
box lunches will be provided by the hotel. Note that this tour requires
quite a bit of walking.
September 16 (Friday) – Tour historic, downtown Hendersonville
and the Blue Ridge Parkway by auto. See the waterfalls in Pisgah Forest
and the vistas in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lunch will be at the Pisgah
Inn overlooking the mountains. If time permits a visit to the Folk Art
Center may be arranged.
September 17 (Saturday) –
9:00 a.m. meeting in the Hospitality Suite and then travel to Flat Rock
for a tour of the Carl Sandburg Home. The cost is $5 per person. This
will be followed by a picnic on the grounds of the Sandburg home with
box lunch from the Quality Inn.
2:00 p.m. enjoy a matinee performance of “Not Now Darling”
at the Flat Rock Theater. Tickets are approximately $23 per person.
Banquet:
Friday evening at 5:00 p.m. - Annual Banquet ($36.85 per person) at the
Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC followed by the Annual Meeting in the
Hospitality Room back at the Quality Inn.
Payment:
Payment will be needed in advance for the following:
- $27/person to tour the Biltmore Estate
- $36.85/person for the Friday evening banquet
- A charge of $24.50 (or more) /couple for bus transportation if it is decided to travel by bus to tour sites.
